Effect of Zinc Doses on Yield and Quality in Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) Plant

In this study, the effect of different doses of zinc (Zn) fertilizer applied to the soil, on the yield and some quality parameters of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) were investigated. The study was conducted 2019-2020 vegetation period under Siirt ecological conditions. In the study, five different doses of fertilizer with zinc (Zn0= 0 kg da-1 Zn, Zn1= 0.5 kg da-1 Zn, Zn2= 1 kg da-1 Zn, Zn3= 1.5 kg da-1 Zn, Zn4 =2 kg da-1 Zn) has been considered as the subject of research. According to the results, it was determined that Zn doses had significant effects on seed yield, some of the agricultural properties effective on yield, essential oil ratio, and essential oil yield. In the study, the highest branch number, number of umbellet in the main umbel, seed yield, essential oil ratio and essential oil yield were obtained at Zn3 dose. The highest values in terms of plant height and thousand grain weight were determined in Zn3 and Zn4 doses. The highest value on account of number of seed in the main umbel was obtained from Zn2 and Zn3 doses. According to Zn doses, plant height, branch number, number of umbellet in the main umbel, number of seeds in the main umbel, seed yield, thousand-grain weight, essential oil, essential oil yield were ranged between 68.25-84.00 cm, 4.98-6.19 plants-1, 5.83-7.08, 37.28-45.73, 103.09-173.45 kg da-1, 9.95-10.87 g, 0.30-0.35% and 0.31-0.61 L da-1, respectively. It was concluded that 1.33 kg da-1 zinc can be applied in terms of seed yield in coriander cultivation in soils with low zinc content.
