Submitting authors of manuscripts that require a “minor revision” or a “major revision” will receive the decision letter from the Editor in Chief. The decision letter will include the suggestions of the reviewers and editors along with a deadline to submit the revised and updated version of the manuscript. For manuscripts requiring minor revision, the revised version must be submitted within 30 days. For manuscripts requiring major revision, the revised version must be submitted within 60 days.
When submitting a revised version of a paper, authors must submit a detailed “Response to the reviewers” stating point by point how each issue raised by the reviewers has been addressed and where the relevant change can be found in the manuscript (each reviewer’s comment, followed by the author’s reply and the line numbers where the changes have been made). This file must be prepared as a line-by-line response and uploaded separately under the file name response-to-reviewers.docx. An annotated copy of the main document must also be submitted. In addition, the revised main document must be submitted with tracked changes enabled.
Revised manuscripts must be submitted within the time frame specified in the decision letter. If the revised version of the manuscript is not submitted within the allocated time, the revision option may be canceled. If the submitting author(s) believe that additional time is required, they should request an extension before the initial period is over. In case of delay, the extension request must be submitted in writing before the original deadline expires; if approved, an additional period of up to 30 days may be granted. After the second revision, the manuscript may be reassigned to different reviewers.
