Abstract

This study was carried out in Experimental Field of Agricultural Faculty of Harran University during second cropping season with split plot experimental design with three replicates. Defoliation (below and above the ear) was the main plot and defoliation time (at flowering, milk and dough stage) was the sub-plots. In the experiment, LG-55 hybrid corn cultivar was used. In the study, significant differences between defoliation below ear and above ear were found. Early defoliation resulted in decreases in all measured characters. Defoliation at later growth stages, grain yield considerably increased. Both fresh and dry leaf yields were not affected by defoliation position and time.
