Determination of Yield and Quality Characteristics of Some Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Varieties at Bilecik-Merkez Conditions

Abstract

This study was carried out in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 growing seasons in order to determine the yield and quality elements of some bread wheat varieties in Bilecik-Center conditions. 20 different bread wheat varieties are used and the experimental design was a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Our research plant height, spike length, the number of spike per square meter, seed yield, spike yield, 1000 kernel weight, test weight, harvest index, zeleny sedimentation, protein content were investigated. Midas, Forblanc, Glosa and Esperia cultivars have high yields as a result of two-year study in Bilecik, Rumeli and Masaccio cultivars were found to be good in terms of quality characteristics and it is thought that they will provide the yield and quality qualities that the region needs.
