Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the nutritional status of the coriander plant in the Tabriz/Hokma-Abad region of Iran by soil and plant analysis. For this purpose, soil and plant samples were collected from 15 different points. According to the findings, the soils' textural classes were classified as sandy clay loam and sandy loam, their pH ranged between neutral and slightly alkaline, their electrical conductivity (EC) ranged between 0.32-0.65 dS m-1, and they were classified as non-saline. Additionally, they had very low levels of organic matter (OM) and lime content, and their pH ranged between neutral and slightly alkaline. The cation exchange capacities (CEC) are quite high, ranging from 23.47 to 62.65%. The inorganic nitrogen concentrations (NH4 - NO3) are extremely low, with total nitrogen values ranging between 0.02-0.42% and 27.5-52.5 and 26-64.4 mg kg-1, respectively. Exchangeable potassium (K) at 11.6-52.0 mg kg-1, exchangeable calcium (Ca) at 8.4-35.6 cmol kg-1, and plant-available phosphorus (P) at 14.8-53.9 mg kg-1 are all at sufficient levels. Plant-available iron (3.6-10.49 mg kg-1), copper (1.20-10.8 mg kg-1), and zinc (0.9-9.67 mg kg-1) levels were sufficient. Manganese (Mn) that is readily available in plants vary between 4.59 and 16.3 mg kg-1 and is typically insufficient. N, P, K, Fe, and Mn (0.10-0.23; 0.01-0.09; 1.59-1.78; 5.4-71.4; 9.3-21.4 mg kg-1, respectively) were found below the critical level in coriander leaf samples. Ca, Mg, Cu, and Zn contents (1.49–1.67%; Mg 0.49–0.60; and 5.53–14.1; 10.2-.28.4 mg kg-1) were found to be generally sufficient. The soils under investigation generally have problems with calcareous matter, nitrogen, organic matter, and Mn deficiency.
