The Effects of Different Row Spacings, Chicken Manure Doses and Seed Pre-Applications on The Yield And Yield Components of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effects of different row spacings, chicken manure doses and seed pre-applications on the yield and yield components of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) in Siirt conditions during 2016-2017 growing season. Trials were laid out in split-split plot design with three replications. In the study, three different row spaces (20, 30 and 40 cm) as main plots; seed pre-application and Mesorhizobium ciceri inoculation as split plots, and chicken manure doses (0, 40, 120 and 200 kg/da) were applied as split-split plots. According to the results of the study, plant height, first pod height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, 100-seed weight and grain yield between 54.4-66.0 cm, 29.5-36.7 cm, 29.3-43.9 pcs plant-1, 29.4-44.9 pcs plant-1, 30.1-36.2 g and 83.4-253.7 kg da-1. The effects of row spacing, pre-application and chicken manure doses on grain yield were found to be significant. The grain yield increased as the row spacing decreased and the chicken manure dose increased. While the highest grain yield was obtained from 20 cm row spacing (190.3 kg da-1), Mesorhizobium ciceri inoculation (157.8 kg da-1) from the pre-applications gave the highest grain yield. In chicken manure application, it was obtained from the dose of 200 kg/da (157.7 kg da-1). As a result, in this study carried out under the ecological conditions of Siirt province, the highest grain yield was obtained from 20 cm row spacing + Mesorhizobium ciceri + 40 kg da-1 chicken manure application (253.7 kg da-1).
